Welcome back to NASCAR Thunder 2004 Season Mode But It Uses Stadium Super Truck Rules! Last time, we went west.

This time, we continue west into California.

Rounds 27–28: Dockside International Raceway

I always thought Dockside could be a fun real-life road course.

A while back, I got some old PS2 games and controllers from my older cousin (plus his PS2 Slim, though it was basically bricked at this point). Since I had played with a wireless controller for so long, I decided to try out one of the ones I got. Unlike my controller, his also vibrates, which has made for quite a thrill whenever I ran through the grass or brushed the wall in NT2004. However, perhaps the most interesting is that Dockside’s manhole covers also count as non-racing surface even if they’re in the middle of the road, so I could feel the controller rumble whenever I drove over them.

Rounds 29–30: Infineon Raceway

Ah, Sonoma. My home track.

The Sunday race was basically my time as a Jeff Gordon fan post-2007: Gordon had dominated the event from the pole, leading every lap until the caution came out. The final restart took place as he took the white flag… then his engine expired.

Rounds 31–32: Sawmill Raceway

Like Dockside, Sawmill would be a pretty sweet track in real life. However, turn one’s braking is a pain.

Speaking of braking, I hold the belief that racing at Sawmill with assists is actually harder than racing there without. It’s one thing to fight your car around a windy track like this, it’s another to also have to fight your car that won’t stop suddenly braking every few turns.
